Voice: you must submit a video of yourself singing a song. Your song can be no longer than 3 minutes in length. You can have a live or recorded accompaniment, or you can sing a cappella. Make sure your singing is the loudest sound on the video and that your face can be clearly seen. Choose a song that gives a good indication of your vocal range and musicality, as well as your ability to perform. If you write original music we’d love to hear that!
Slate the beginning of the audition video by saying your name, grade, and the song you are singing. Sing the song in one take - no stopping and starting the camera!
As an alternative, if you have a good, clean sounding and clear looking video of you performing live in a concert or musical situation, you can use that for your audition. It must be you singing solo, not as part of a choir, and please trim it to no more than 3 minutes. As an example, something like this is acceptable:
solo voice example.
Your finished audition video starts with your slate, then one take of your song performance - nothing more than that, about 3 minutes long.
